Describing motion
Kinematics is the study of motion without regard to its causes. Position, velocity, and acceleration are the quantities we measure and relate. For motion with constant acceleration a, starting at initial velocity u, the velocity after time t is v = u + a*t, and the displacement is s = u*t + 0.5*a*t^2. These two equations let us predict how a falling or accelerating object will move.
